Wild yeast infection!

image

I have never seen wild yeast infect pancake syrup before. It smells pretty bad. This picture shows my ruined breakfast syrup on the left, and a brettanomyces culture on the right. Looks pretty similar. Weird to say the least. I’m having a hard time understanding how syrup can ferment with potassium sorbate added.

  1. I think you should blame it on the maple fairies and their campaign toward pancake purity.

    Seriously though, that’s pretty odd.
